About Monetizes and how we rank

Monetizes is an independent directory of monetization: every way to make money from a website, audience or app explained with what it pays, how much traffic it needs and how long until the first payout, and the ad networks, affiliate networks, platforms and marketplaces that pay for each one. We map every provider to the methods it serves and the niches it accepts, record its traffic minimum, revenue share and payout terms, and say plainly where each one falls short.

How the ranking works

Each listing gets an editor score from 0 to 10. For methods it weighs how much the method earns per visitor, how reliably it pays, how little traffic it needs to start and how many kinds of property it suits. For providers it weighs what publishers keep, how quickly and reliably it pays, the honesty of its terms, its effect on the site (speed, layout, reader trust) and reputation. A daily web popularity rank (from the Tranco top-1M list), reader upvotes and click-throughs adjust the order over time. Sponsored placements are always labelled.

Where the numbers come from

Traffic minimums, revenue shares, payout thresholds and schedules are taken from each provider's own published terms and rechecked when they change. RPM ranges on method pages and in the calculator are editorial estimates for a US-heavy audience in a general niche, adjusted by niche and geography multipliers we publish on the benchmarks page; they describe typical outcomes, not promises. Your own numbers depend on layout, season, content and luck.

Where listings come from, and how they stay fresh

Providers submit their services and our editors add the ones we use or research. Every day an automatic scout searches GitHub for open-source monetization platforms and watches Hacker News and Product Hunt for new ones; nothing appears before a person has reviewed it. Every day we refresh each provider's Tranco rank, so the rising page shows who is actually gaining users. Provider pages also show the latest posts from each company's own blog.

How we map methods, properties and niches

Each method carries the property types it suits (blog, newsletter, YouTube, podcast, app, SaaS, community, social, store, directory, tool site), grouped into four revenue families. Each provider lists the methods it pays for and the niches it accepts, taken from its own website and terms. See the money map, the property pages and the niche pages. Spot a mistake? Tell us.
